Fetch 'n Fun Daycare for Dogs

About UsMeet UsServicesRatesDirectionsApplicationHome

At Fetch 'n Fun  we strive to make a dog's day; a day in paradise.  We pride ourselves on providing ample opportunity for dogs to exercise and socialize, balanced with  a priority on safety.  Dogs have their choice of social play or one-on-one attention; whether it be a tummy rub, fetching a ball, or a brush-down.  Dogs can discover new activities while enjoying their favorite games.  Currently, Fetch ‘n Fun offers daycare and boarding.  Fetch ‘n Fun has plans to become a full-facility daycare to include grooming and swimming.

Dogs may attend daycare any number of days. We recommend that you keep to the same schedule. When the dogs enter daycare, they go through a routine of establishing their ‘pack.' The fewer changes to the pack the less anxiety the dogs will feel which means they can get to playing sooner. When dogs are bumped from one pack to another, they may experience more anxiety at returning to daycare than other dogs. The staff is particularly careful to watch for anxiety in dogs, as they assist in canine introductions.

Jake & DuncanBefore Attending: All dogs are assessed as to their ability to get along with humans and other dogs. How well they share toys, respond to humans, and interact with dogs as a group are all part of the assessment. You will need to call to make an appoint-ment for your dog to be assessed before regular daycare attendance or boarding can begin. Expect to spend 1/2 hour.

Sophie & ZanderBeginning Daycare: Once you decide that Fetch ‘n Fun is the place for your dog, s/he will be placed with a group of dogs according to temperament. Dogs are rotated indoors and outdoors giving them a chance to explore both environments and reducing the chance for accidents to happen. Dogs are not scolded for accidents indoors, but are rewarded for going potty outside.

Tobey & TysonNap Time: The dogs are on the go from the minute they come through the door. Just like children, they need some down time. Nap Time is daily for an hour sometime between 12-2. No dogs can be dropped off or picked up during this time. The dogs are each put into their crate, open pen, or bed (depending on your preference) and given a treat while the lights are turned off and music plays softly. For their treat we place small bits of the treats you bring in with peanut butter into a Kong. Research has shown that his helps to calm dogs before they nap. Guinea HensGuinea Hens: That’s right, guinea hens. We have guinea hens because they love to eat ticks and other bugs. Some communities have taken to giving away free guinea hens to keep the tick and insect population down. Although they do virtually clear an area of ticks, we recommend you still check your dog on a daily basis. In order for the guinea hens to eat up as many ticks as they want, you will often see them roaming around Fetch ‘n Fun. It is vital that you keep your dog leashed while coming and going into Fetch ‘n Fun.

Boarding

SyndeyOur focus on boarding is for our regular daycare clients. We do board dogs that do not attend daycare, but only if there is room available. If your dog does not attend daycare, and you reserve a spot for boarding, know that you could be bumped from the list for the boarding of a daycare client. Why do we have this policy? Once a dog has begun attending daycare, he is comfortable with the environment. He is happy, eats, and plays well. This is the perfect place then for the owners to board the dog, instead of placing him someplace where he will be in a crate most of the day. Boarding for daycare dogs provides owners with great peace of mind while on vacation, and provides the dog with a home-away-from home Enjoying the poolexperience. Dogs that are not daycare clients and come for boarding are unfamiliar with the routine, and often have a more difficult time adjusting. They may experience greater separation anxiety, eat less, and appear unhappy. Staff will pay close attention to these dogs needs. For this reason, we do require that a dog spend at least one day at daycare before boarding.  For those planning on long term boarding we require the dog to attend daycare one day a week for a month before boarding begins. This will greatly increase the dog’s happiness and success in boarding.
